HOW WE MET

We got a little story for ya, Ags! Well, it’s actually a story that spans over four years, but we’ll hit you

with the highlights. Hannah and Brett first meet at a Christmas party in college in 2011, Hannah, the

sophomore, and Brett, the old guy on his last semester at Texas A&M. Upon introducing himself, Brett

spends a good portion of the night talking to Hannah and trying to prove to her that he knows where

Hannah’s tiny hometown of Cuero, Texas is located. As any best friend would do, Travis Kennedy sees

that Brett and Hannah are hitting it off and wanders over with some mistletoe. Brett is no-nonsense

when it comes to Christmas traditions, and feels obliged to lean in. The rest, as they say, is history. Well,

actually, history had to wait a bit. The following spring, Hannah and Brett decide they are both in

different places in life and decide to part ways but remain friends while Brett moves to Houston

following graduation, and Hannah remains in College Station to finish her degree.

Fast forward two years to the fall of 2013; Brett is in College Station for the weekend and he and

Hannah run into each other at a tailgate. While catching up, Hannah tells Brett that she is accepting a

job offer in Houston! They stay in touch and make future plans to hang out once Hannah is settled in

Houston. Once they are in the same city again, Hannah and Brett begin seeing each other, and they have

been together ever since!

Proposal

In April of 2016, Hannah and Brett leave for the Bergamo family vacation to Seaside, FL. After a few

days of golf and relaxation in the Florida sun, the trip culminates in preparation for family photos at

sunset on the last day of the trip. As Hannah strategizes ways to keep her beachy waves from falling

victim to the humidity before the photos, Brett has a bit more on his mind in addition to getting camera

ready! Still absolutely clueless about Brett’s plan, Hannah follows him out the door as the two head to

the boathouse to meet Brett’s family before the sun sets. Brett, his dad, and Hannah leave in one car

because “everyone else isn’t ready yet”. Hannah remains clueless, even though Brett is clearly sweating

bullets as he attempts to calmly navigate toward their destination.

Once Brett parks the car at the boathouse, his dad announces that he has “forgotten his wallet” and

must return to the house to get it. Before he leaves to retrieve the wallet, he INSISTS Hannah and

Brett should go meet the photographer and start taking photos so no time is lost before the sun goes

down. At this point Hannah is starting to think things are getting a little fishy, but she is still relatively in

the dark and agrees with Brett’s dad. Brett takes Hannah’s hand, and they start walking along the path

to the boathouse when Hannah spots a lady with a camera sitting alone. “Look there’s the

photographer!” Hannah exclaimed. Without skipping a beat, Brett quickly responded, “No, our

photographer has brown hair.” Brett continues to lead Hannah up the path, and they begin to approach

a bridge that NO ONE is on. As Brett starts towards the bridge, Hannah knows something is up. “Where

are we going? This bridge doesn’t lead anywhere,” Hannah tells Brett. Focused on the task at hand,

Brett just keeps walking and mumbling about their quest to find the photographer. “We just need to go

on the bridge to find her,” he assures Hannah. Then, as they arrive at the middle of the bridge, Brett

turns to Hannah and, taking both of her hands, begins his proposal. As he starts to speak, they can hear

the people in the boathouse shout, “He’s proposing!” As Brett gets down on one knee, the

boathouse lets out a giant, “AWW!” all at once. Hannah is of course crying and shaking

and Brett is able to muster a few sentences together and asks her to marry him. Hannah nods her head

profusely and Brett slams the ring box shut before Hannah can put it on, for fear of dropping the ring in

the water flowing beneath them under the bridge. After Brett stands up and they hug (Hannah still

crying) and the boat house spectators cheer.! It is at this moment Hannah realizes that the “wrong

photographer” is the right one and has captured the entire moment in photographs!. Once Hannah’s

hands stop shaking, Brett puts on the ring and they meet up with Brett’s family. It is definitely an

evening to remember!
